Army of One - On the Front Lines with The Bride of War

jc2 from Army of One in action

^The Bride is massive- over 8 feet tall. Army of One utilized some wood framing to get up to the top.

^Putting up the bride was a ballsy big production, with the grenade and many other touches being added and applied on the street.

jc2 in action, tagging the message to the medium

^Army of One slices open a bottle of Krink with a police knife-I'm sure they'd be proud

(looks kinda sketchy!--we assume that's all paint on the blade!!)

^Finished, blood splattered bride

We had the unforgettable opportunity to accompany Army of One in an early morning pasting session.

Hitting open spots in daylight was brazen, but Army of One calmly forged ahead, emboldened by their mantra to End All Wars.

It was truly a unique opportunity to document one of the world's top street artists in action. jc2, (one half of Army of One), was an incredibly open and engaging person. His insights into street art left us inspired. And his ideas about the world left us feeling better the place (how often does that happen?!). This guy is truly a great lover and supporter of street art.

(BTW-we hear from good sources that MELROSEandFAIRFAX is the place where New Yorkers follow LA street art--WHAT UP NEW YORK!!)

Thanks for inviting us out, Army of One!

As always, you can peep more Army of One pics on their Flickr. Link below.
